(Iowa) – The Haskell Indian Nations University women’s basketball and eight other conference teams are vying for the inaugural Continental Athletic Conference women’s basketball championship title at Iowa Wesleyan University in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, from February 25-27.
Tournament host Iowa Wesleyan has earned the top seed and will face No. 8-seed Fisher College (Massachusetts) in a quarterfinal matchup on Friday, February 25. Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) is the tournament’s No. 2 seed and will open tournament play against No. 7 Cottey College (Missouri).
Third-seeded Wilberforce University (Ohio) takes on No. 6 Crowley’s Ridge College (Arkansas), while No. 4 Washington Adventist University (Maryland) plays No. 5 Northern New Mexico College in the other quarterfinal matchups.
Friday’s winners will advance to the semifinal round Saturday, February 26. The tournament will conclude with the championship game Sunday, February 27. The two teams competing for the title will earn automatic bids to represent the CAC in the NAIA national championship tournament.
