Florida College freshman Raquel Teixeira and junior Madison Lee joined Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) senior Nakooma Pelt in earning the Continental Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week award.
Teixeira, the Attacker of the Week, tallied 39 kills and created points on 31.6% of her spikes across three matches for the Falcons. The Turcifal, Portugal, native had 13 kills in a sweep against College of Coastal Georgia last Saturday. The outside hitter added 12 kills in a 3-0 victory against Wesleyan College (Georgia) later in the day.
Lee, the Setter of the Week, reached at least 25 assists in all three matches for the week. The Fort Pierce, Florida, native had 38 assists in a 3-0 win against Coastal Georgia. Lee began the week with 35 assists in a 3-1 loss to Southeastern University (Florida) last Thursday.
Meanwhile, Pelt, the Defender of the Week, recorded 72 digs and averaged six digs per set across four matches for the week. The Albuquerque, New Mexico, native had 33 digs in a 3-2 win against Bethany College (Kansas) last Friday. Pelt also recorded her 1,000th dig of her career in leading the team’s play at the Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Classic.
