by Haskell Indian Nations University (Kan.) took home the 2018 Association of Independent Institutions Volleyball tournament title, defeating Indiana University Northwest 3-0 in Saturday’s championship match in a tournament hosted at Lincoln Christian University (Ill.).
The Indians, the No. 2 seed, advanced to the championship match behind a 3-1 triumph against Lincoln Christian earlier in the day. Then, Haskell Indian Nations avenged a 3-0 loss to top-seeded Indiana Northwest that happened a day earlier during pool play in the postseason tournament.
The Redhawks picked up a 3-1 semifinal victory against No. 4-seeded Crowley’s Ridge College (Ark.) on Saturday.
Haskell Indian Nations and Indiana Northwest received the A.I.I.’s automatic bids to the 2018 NAIA national tournament.
