Immaculata University women’s tennis Freshman Timesha Smith (White Mountain Apache) wins a three-set match

IMMACULATA, Pa.– The Immaculata women’s tennis team (3-3, 1-1 CSAC) returned to Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Saturday afternoon as they hosted Gwynedd Mercy (4-0, 4-0 CSAC) at the IU Tennis Courts, but they were unable to snap their losing streak as the Griffins topped them 7-2 for their third straight loss.

IU dropped all three doubles matches, with freshman Susan Callahan and sophomore Claire Stimson playing the closest match at third doubles, where they fell 8-4.

The Mighty Macs picked up their two points on the day in singles action at the fifth and sixth spots.  Sophomore Caitlin Savage ran her singles record on the season to 6-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph in the fifth spot.  Freshman Timesha Smith (White Mountain Apache) won a three-set match at sixth singles with a 3-6, 7-5, 10-6 win.

The Macs will go back to non-conference play on Wednesday with a trip to Penn State-Harrisburg.
