by IRVINE, Calif. — Cross country runner Isaiah Thompson (San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians) was honored as the Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week after another team-leading performance at the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational.
Thompson was the top collegiate finisher and second overall finisher at UC Riverside’s Highlander Invitational last weekend, running 17:56.33 over 6,000 meters.
The senior led the team to their third meet victory of the season as the Anteaters put five runners in the top 10.
Thompson, who has led the ‘Eaters at every meet this season, earns the Buffalo Wild Wings accolade for the second time this season. He also won the distinction on Sept. 7 after leading UCI to the Pepperdine Invitational title.
With the regular season complete, Thompson and UCI will now prepare for the Big West Championships held October 29 at the Kahuku Golf Course in Kahuku, Hawai’i.
