Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle women’s basketball team earned a wire-to-wire 95-46 victory over Chestnut Hill on Friday night at John Glaser Arena.
Junior Ayisse Magassa led all scorers with 19 points, while graduate student Mackenzie Daleba recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
This marked the first double-double for an Explorer since Gabby Crawford recorded 22 points and 12 rebounds against Saint Joseph’s on February 2, 2022.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Explorers jumped out to a 20-8 lead in the first quarter, with Daleba scoring La Salle’s first four points of the contest.
- La Salle held Chestnut Hill to just 4-15 (26.7%) shooting from the field in the first quarter, while only allowing one three-pointer throughout the entire game.
- La Salle scored at least 20 points in every quarter and led for 39:50 minutes on the night.
- An 18-0 run in the third quarter pushed the lead to 65-36 going into the final period. The Explorers closed out the game with a 30-10 edge in the fourth quarter to earn the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- All 12 Explorers who saw action on the night recorded at least one point.
- Juniors Alisa Blalock and Ivy Fox added 12 and 10 points off the bench, respectively, as four Explorers scored in double figures.
- As a team, the Explorers shot 40-86 (46.5%) from the field.
- With the win, the Explorers move to 6-5 on the season and 4-1 at home.
