COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western New Mexico University cross country runner Jacob Riley (Laguna Pueblo) wase named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Team Thursday.
In order to be named to the list, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and have completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. The student-athlete’s cumulative GPA is what they had earned prior cross country season beginning.
Riley made the list as the sophomore from New Laguna, N.M., holds a 3.47 GPA and is majoring in criminal justice. Riley paced WNMU at both the George Kyte Classic where he placed seventh and at the Incarnate Word Invite coming in 12th. He also finished in 36th at the UC San Diego Triton Classic.
