by Senior guard Jenine Coriz (Cochiti Pueblo) of Haskell Indian Nations University has been named MCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 1.
A native of Santa Fe, N.M., Coriz averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists per game last week in leading the Indians to a pair of victories. In a 76-60 upset of No. 9 College of Saint Mary, she had 19 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Haskell is now 16-5 on the season.
