(Corvallis, Oregon) – Soboba tribal member Joe Burton of the Oregon State Beavers look to knock of the TCU Horned frogs in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational in a nationally televised game at 7:00 PM on HDNET television.
THE GAME: With victories in five of the last six games, Oregon State (20-14) looks to continue the hot streak when it hosts the TCU Horned Frogs (18-14) at Gill Coliseum on Monday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational presented by Zebra Pen.
TELEVISION: The game will be televised nationally on HDNet with Rich Cellini and Joe Cravens calling the action. HDNet is available in the Corvallis area on Comcast/Xfinity 798 and on satellite providers DirecTV 306 and Dish Network 362.

vs. TCU: Oregon State and TCU meet for the second time in history with the Beavers holding a 1-0 advantage after winning, 63-49, on Dec. 26, 1987 in the first game of the Far West Classic in Portland, Ore. The Beavers won the Far West Classic that year after knocking off Lamar, 62-44, on Dec. 28 and Oregon, 62-51, in the championship game on Dec. 29 with all three games being played at the Portland Coliseum.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL NOTES:
• This is Oregon State’s third trip to the CBI in the five-year history of the tournament and the Beavers are now 6-2 all-time in CBI Tournament games.
• With a 21-point win over Western Illinois (80-59), OSU has won nine games by at least 20 points this season, the most since the 1981-82 team won 10 times by 20 or more.
• The Beavers shot a season-best 65.2 percent (30-46) from the field to better the 63.3 percent (31-49) they shot against California in a 92-85 win on Jan. 5 at Gill Coliseum.
• Western Illinois had 15 rebounds in the game, the fewest by an Oregon State opponent this season (previous low was by California with 24 boards on Jan. 5).
• Craig Robinson is 2-0 against Western Illinois with the first win in his first season as the head coach at Brown, 63-59, on Dec. 29, 2006 in the Flint Hills Resources Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas.
• Senior Kevin McShane missed the game against Western Illinois with a hip pointer he suffered in the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament against Arizona.
• Devon Collier had one blocked shot against Western Illinois to break the Oregon State sophomore blocked shots record with 43 to pass Scott Haskin (1989-90) and Steve Johnson (1978-79) with 42 each.
• Ahmad Starks made his 78th three-pointer of the season against Western Illinois to pass Chris Stephens (76) for first on Oregon State’s sophomore list and second on the school’s single-season list, trailing only Gary Payton who made 82 in 1988-89.
