PORTLAND, Ore.- Oregon Tech had seven players score in double figures as they powered past Multnomah University 115-73 Saturday afternoon at Skagen Court to improve to 4-2 in Cascade Conference play and 11-5 on the year. With the loss the Lions fall to 4-11 overall and 1-4 in CCC play.
Tech started hot building a 29 point lead at the half 60-31 on 21 of 45 from the floor.
The Hooter didn’t cool off in the second half, leading by as many as 54 points on 22 of 40 shooting from the floor including 8 of 26 from long range.
Tech was led by Joel Yellow Owl (Blackfeet/Yakama) and his 17 points with freshman Seth Erickson adding a career high 16 points followed by last night’s freshman hero Tyler Hieb who finished with 14 points. Tech’s Andrew Weber had a career high 15 rebounds for game high honors with senior Bryan Beard adding a double-double 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Darius Redrick had 30 points to lead the Lions with Moe Keita adding a double-double 16 points and 12 boards in the loss.
For the game OIT out-rebounded the Lions 63-34.
Oregon Tech will next travel over the hill to face Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, January 3 at Ashland High school.
