Josie Hill (Sisseton-Wahpeton) Records Double-Double in a 66-55 Women’s Basketball Loss to Central Michigan

Josie Hill recorded a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, along with 14 points from Tae’Lor Willard and 10 from Taylor Norris in a 66-55 women’s basketball loss to Central Michigan Sunday afternoon at the JCC. 

First Quarter – CMU 18, Chicago State 10
? The Cougars opened up the scoring after a trey from Josie Hill to go up 3-0
? Central Michigan answered with a 9-0 run to lead 9-3
? Both teams continued to trade buckets, however, the Chippewas maintained the edge at 9-7 to remain in the lead with a score of 18-10

Second Quarter – CMU 32, Chicago State 30
? Chicago State came out hot as Taylor Norris scored two quick buckets and the Cougars trailed by four, 18-14
? Central Michigan bounced back with a 9-2 run to retake momentum with a 27-16 lead
? The Cougars retaliated with two free throws from Willard and a layup from Parrish to cut into the Chippewas lead at 27-20
? Chicago State finished the quarter outscoring CMU 10-5 with buckets from Hill, Norris, Yzabelle Tevao to now only trail by two at 32-30 heading into the half

Third Quarter – CMU 47, Chicago State 41
? Chicago State kicked off the scoring with a trey from Willard, followed by a hook shot from Hill to retake the lead at 35-32
? The Chippewas executed their own run at 7-2 which once again earned them the lead at 39-37
? The Cougars retaliated with a 4-0 run after a mid-range pull up from Willard and two free throws from Norris to reach a 41-39 lead
? Central Michigan managed to end the quarter on an 8-0 run which earned them a six point lead heading into the fourth at 47-41

Fourth Quarter – CMU 66, Chicago State 55
? The Chippewas opened the scoring as they continued with a 9-1 run which cemented their lead at 56-42
? The Cougars managed to go bucket for bucket with CMU as they finished off the game with a 13-10 scoring differential, however it was not enough as CMU took the win at 66-55
