by Kamaka Hepa is the newest basketball player for Enea Zastal BC Zielona Góra, a profesional basketball team in Poland.
Born in Alaska, the 23-year-old spent the last five years in the NCAA. He played the first two seasons for the Texas Longhorns before moving to Hawaii for three years to join the Rainbow Warriors.
With each passing year, Hepa played an increasingly important roles on the team. In the last two yearsc he captained the Rainbow Warriors and started in each of the 60 games.
Last season, he averaged 11.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Specializing as a stretch four, Kamaka is a three-point shooter, averaging 5 three-pointers per game and shooting with a shooting percentage of nearly 39%.
Coach David Dedek says about the new player: “He is a player who has just graduated from the university and fits perfectly into our vision of a young team. He plays positions four and five, but it’s mostly a high four with a perfect three-point shot. We were looking for a player like that for our team.”
