Katherine Fox (MHA Nation) Scored a Team-High 18 Points for Dickinson State who Fall to MSU-Northern

Dickinson, N.D. – Dickinson State fell, 61-58, in an exciting game Saturday at Scott Gymnasium. DSU pulled within one possession multiple times late in the game, but could never pull even.

The game was evenly matched from the start, with both teams locked at 14-14 after the first quarter. Dickinson State relied on balanced scoring and tough defense to keep pace with the Skylights, led by Katherine Fox‘s team-high 18 points. Anhelica Shanrock added 15 points and five rebounds, providing a consistent offensive spark.

The Blue Hawks faced a deficit at halftime, trailing 33-27, as MSU-Northern found success with efficient perimeter shooting in the second quarter.

Dickinson State tightened the game in the third quarter, using solid defensive efforts and second-chance opportunities to trim the lead. Samantha Oase’s rebounding and interior presence allowed the Skylights to maintain a narrow edge, but the Blue Hawks stayed close, trailing 50-41 heading into the final frame.

The Blue Hawks rallied in the fourth quarter, outscoring MSU-Northern 17-11, fueled by a combination of clutch shooting and defensive stops. Fox hit key shots down the stretch, and Dickinson State’s defense forced multiple turnovers to create transition opportunities. Despite their efforts, the Skylights capitalized on free throws and timely buckets to secure the win in the closing moments.

Dickinson State shot 38.6% from the field and 75% from the free-throw line but struggled from beyond the arc, going 5-for-19. The Skylights countered with 36.9% shooting and a slight rebounding advantage to earn the win.
