The Washington Redskins on Sunday announced the signing of nine players to the team’s practice squad, all of whom were with the team during training camp and the preseason.
After determining the players that earned spots on the 53-man active roster earlier in the weekend, the Redskins have added linebacker Lynden Trail, defensive end Matt Ioannidis, tackle Isaiah Williams, guardNila Kasitati, offensive lineman Vinston Painter, wide receiver Kendal Thompson, wide receiverMaurice Harris, fullback Joe Kerridge and running back Mack Brown to the practice squad.
The maximum number of players the Redskins can have on the practice squad is 10.
After playing quarterback in college, Thompson made the move to wide receiver after signing with the Redskins on the eve of training camp.
In the Redskins’ late victory over the New York Jets in Week 2 preseason action, Thompson made a game-winning one-handed touchdown reception followed by a successful two-point conversion catch to follow.
