Kiiyani Anitielu (Navajo/Samoan) Led Adams State with 18 points in Win over Chadron State

CHADRON, Neb. — Adams State completed a two-game sweep of its road trip Jan. 14 with a come-from-behind, 74-66 win at Chadron (Neb.) State.

The win pushes ASU’s record to 12-5 overall and 8-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Eagles slipped to 3-14, 3-8 in the RMAC.

The Grizzlies used a fourth-quarter rally to pull out the win. They outscored the Eagles 27-17. Kiiyani Anitielu led the Grizzlies with 18 points. Angelline Nageak added 14, including a pair of 3-pointers. Harmaine Dominguez added 10 points.

Ashayla Powers led the Eagles with 19 points. Samiyah Worrell hit two from long range en route to 14 points. Kyra Tanabe added a dozen.

The game featured 10 ties and just as many lead changes. The Grizzlies scored 18 points off Chadron turnovers, while the Eagles turned ASU turnovers into just 11 points.
