DENVER – Behind a dominant second-half performance, Adams State secured a 77-64 road victory over Regis University on Thursday night at the Regis Fieldhouse.
Kiiyani Anitielu led the way for the Grizzlies, scoring a game-high 27 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including three three-pointers. Taejhuan Hill provided a strong presence in the paint, recording a double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds.
Adams State (12-8, 7-4 RMAC) trailed 37-30 at halftime but surged in the second half, outscoring Regis (7-11, 5-6 RMAC) 47-27 over the final two quarters. The Grizzlies shot 43% from the field while holding the Rangers to just 36% shooting.
Ri’Ahana Davis chipped in 10 points, while Angelline Nageak filled the stat sheet with nine points and seven assists. Brooke Rodgers contributed with seven assists and eight rebounds despite not scoring.
Regis was led by Athena Saragoza’s 15 points, while Mary Crossland and Addison Branscum each added 13. The Rangers struggled offensively in the second half, managing only 27 points after a strong start.
Adams State won the rebounding battle 46-38 and dominated inside, scoring 36 points in the paint. The victory keeps the Grizzlies in the upper half of the RMAC standings as they prepare for their next matchup.
