Kiiyani Anitielu (Navajo/Samoan) Sored a Team High 22 Points for Adam State who Fall to Harding in Tipoff Classic

Canyon, Texas — Adams State and Harding battled down to the wire. Ultimately, Harding claimed victory with a final score of 75-69, edging out Adams State in the final quarter with a strong push that saw them score 26 points to Adams State’s 22.

The game was a close contest from the beginning, with Adams State taking slight leads at various points, only to see Harding respond quickly. Harding’s Sage Hawley proved to be a force on both ends of the floor, finishing with a game-high 30 points and nine rebounds. She led a critical fourth-quarter surge that proved decisive, outpacing Adams State in the closing minutes.

For Adams State, Kiiyani Anitielu was outstanding, scoring 22 points, including a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, while Taejhuan Hill contributed 15 points and eight rebounds. Hill was particularly effective inside, helping Adams State to score 36 points in the paint. Ri’Ahana Davis and Angelline Nageak also provided key contributions, with Davis scoring eight points, including two three-pointers, and Nageak adding eight points and three assists.

Despite shooting a higher percentage from the field, Adams State faced challenges in rebounding, where Harding held a distinct 42-25 edge. Harding’s defense forced 13 turnovers from Adams State, and Harding capitalized on these miscues, turning them into 16 points.
