Lexy Keys (Cherokee) added 19 Points as Oklahoma State routs Texas Tech, 73-58, in 2nd round at Big 12 Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team rolled past Texas Tech in the second half of the opening game at the Big 12 Championship on Thursday night inside Municipal Auditorium.

OSU outscored the Lady Raiders by a 45-21 count to sweep all three games in the season series.

The Cowgirls raced out to a 10-0 lead and made it a 13-2 margin on Lauren Fields’ second 3-pointer of the quarter. However, Tech countered with an 10-0 run to get within one with 1:27 left in the period.

OSU held a 15-12 lead after the first 10 minutes of action.

Tech took its first lead with at 23-22 with four and a half minutes left in the half before the Cowgirls answered with the next four in a row. The Lady Raiders would score the next five to move back in front at 28-26 and would turn their 6-0 run into a 34-28 lead at the half.

Early in the third, Fields hit back-to-back treys to get OSU within two at 36-34. The Cowgirls would make it an 11-0 run to move back in front, 39-36, with 6:39 to go and force a Tech timeout.

After Tech came back to take the lead, OSU answered with another run capped by a Lexy Keys’ trey to move in front, 48-43. The Cowgirls would take a 50-45 advantage into the final stanza.

The Cowgirls scored the first nine points of fourth to extend the margin to 59-45 to force another Tech timeout with 7:39 remaining in the contest. OSU would extend the run to 15-0 and its lead to 65-45 on another trey from Keys.

Fields led OSU with 22 points, while Keys added 19. Taylen Collins logged a double-double, finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
