Martinez played at Soles de Mexicali, in Mexico, and he has also played in Argentina, Israel, Venezuela and the United States, his homeland, where he played at the University of Wyoming.
One of the stars of the Mexican basketball team, Luke Martinez played at the end of November in AmeriCup’s second qualifying round, being MVP and the top scorer of the two games played against Puerto Rico and the United States. He averaged of 17.5 points, 4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the competition.
“I know that Flamengo is one of the best, if not the best team in Brazil and in all of Latin America. I am happy and very excited about my arrival at the club. Flamengo plays the game the right way. I think that, with my knowledge and the way I play, we will fit perfectly, ”he said.
Martinez will arrive in Rio de Janeiro in the next few days and, after following the safety and health protocols of COVID, he will join the red-black squad to start training aimed at participating in the NBB later this year.
