PORTLAND | Warner Pacific Women’s Basketball got a much needed win against the Multnomah Lions on Wednesday in a hard fought 75-71 victory. Three Knights scored in double figures on the night; Khloe Snair led the team with 18, followed by Lynden Harry’s 16 and Gabriella Bruno’s 11.

“It was great to get a win under our belts” said head coach Matt Gregg. “In this shortened season, we will take as much court time as we can get and it certainly helps getting a win out of it. I was overall proud of how the women dug deep to hit shots when it mattered and to get the win tonight but we still have a lot of work to do to get ready for conference play” he said.

The Rundown
The game was neck-and-neck for 30 minutes as each team struggled from the field with Warner Pac shooting 37% from the field and Multnomah shooting 35%.

The first half was a back-to-back battle with the exchanging of buckets and the lead, keeping it within five before the Knights scored a basket with 13 seconds left to tie it up at halftime.

Out of the break, Multnomah went on a quick 6-0 run to extend the lead before Warner Pacific responded with a 6-0 run of their own to tie it up once again. Continuing to exchange baskets, the Knights needed to make some offensive adjustments, finding someone that would produce.

Khloe Snair and Lynden Harry (Warm Springs/Yuchi) did just that, both coming alive offensively in the second half. Snair, a junior out of Longview, Washington, scored 18 points and grabbed seven boards coming off the bench while Harry, a newcomer from Warm Springs, Oregon, was just one rebound short of a double-double finishing with 16 and nine.

When it counted down the line, the Knights were able to convert; taking the lead back with just one minute remaining in the third quarter. With a few scares here and there, the team was able to contain the lead for the remainder of the game, outscoring the Lions by three in the fourth quarter to grind out the victory.
