LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. — Four Saints netted hat tricks in Siena Women’s Lacrosse’s thorough 18-7 rout of St. Bonaventure at Siena Turf Field. The Saints exploded for 14 first half goals and led by double digits for nearly all of the final 35 minutes in a complete team victory.
Junior transfer Michelle Schwartz led a balanced scoring attack for Siena (4-2) with six points on three goals and three assists. Freshman attack Lynnzee Miller (Mohawk/Six Nation)added five points on the strength of four goals in notching her fourth hat trick in her first six collegiate games.
The Saints reeled off nine unanswered goals spanning just 10:56 midway through the first half to quickly claim a commanding 11-2 advantage and led 14-4 at the break. Siena out-shot St. Bonaventure (1-2) 23-7 in the first half while holding an 11-4 advantage in groundballs.
Senior captain Lauren Smith scored all four of her goals in the first half for Siena which defeated its sister school for the third consecutive season. Junior midfielder Briana Sirianni rounded out the Saints to net hat tricks and won six draw controls for Siena which harbored a decisive 19-8 margin in the category.
Rachel Perla paced the Bonnies with two goals and Morgan Conroy played the final 51 minutes in goal making eight saves. Siena shut down St. Bonaventure’s leading scorer Leigh Ann Stauffer, holding her scoreless and without a shot.
Siena concludes its season long four-game homestand Wednesday when they host LIU Brooklyn at 4 p.m.
