Madison Hammond (Navajo/Pueblo) scores 10 minutes into the game for Wake Forest who Fall to Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — No. 19-ranked Louisville scored twice in the second half to beat Wake Forest, 2-1, at Lynn Stadium on Thursday night.

The Demon Deacons (5-4-3, 0-2-2 ACC) received a goal in the 10th minute on a free kick by Madison Hammond (Navajo/Pueblo).

The Cardinals (10-1-0, 3-1-0 ACC) tied it at 1-1 when Wake Forest misplayed a free kick in the 53rd minute and Ravin Alexander was there for the tap-in.

Louisville pulled in front for good in the 68th minute when Emina Ekic scored on a free kick from 20 yards out, finishing into the top corner inside the far post.

Mac Carmichael made six saves between the posts.

The Deacons continue their road swing on Oct. 10 with a trip to Syracuse
