RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist University Junior Mary McKey has been named the Great American Conference women’s Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
It is the third time McKey has garnered the GAC’s weekly honor in her career on Bison Hill. She earned the recognition twice as a sophomore a season ago.
McKey turned in a fourth-place finish – first amongst Division II competitors – in the 400m hurdles at the Sooner Invitational. Her time, 1:00.83, earned an NCAA DII qualifying mark and ranks as the 11th-fastest time in the nation.
This outdoor season, McKey has recorded four top-five individual finishes, highlighted by a win in the 400m hurdles at the OBU Invite in March. At the same meet, she anchored the 4×100 relay team to the central region’s fifth-best mark (46.61).
That is fantastic, way to go from the Secwepemc nation in British Columbia
