Chandler, Arizona– Despite a 33 point outburst from Coyote guard Mya Johnson on Saturday, the Coyote Women’s Basketball team fell to Clarendon College on Saturday afternoon, 99-77. Clarendon came in with a record of 13 wins and only one loss and shot lights out from three point range in the win. However, on Monday night, and with a few key players still out with injury, the short handed Coyotes snapped their losing skid and beat Park University’s Varsity Reserve team 68-63.
The well balanced offensive attack aided by five different Coyotes scoring in double figures proved to be the key for the team as they were able to get back to their winning ways after losing their last handful of games. Tianna McKinley lead all scorers with 16 points as she was dynamic getting in transition for the home team. The Coyotes will look to keep the wins going as they take on Benedictine Mesa JV team on Thursday night at the Coyote Center, tip off is at 6 PM
