by Crownpoint, NM – August 22, 2023, Nanabahzhoni Tom from Farmington, NM, signs her letter of intent with the Navajo Technical University Cross Country Team. Nanabahzhoni joined NTU straight from high school at Riverside Oklahoma Indian School, where she ran cross country from 9th to 12th grade. Nanabahzhoni will be pursuing a certificate in Law Enforcement. She was joined by Instructor Dr. Franklin Sage and Coach Lenoard Lee as she signed her letter of intent. She met her future teammates right after to get ready for the evening practice.
“To be a better runner and to make my family proud,” Nanabahzhoni Tom responded on running cross country at NTU.
Leonard J. Lee, NTU’s head cross-country coach, was thrilled with another signing to his team, and it gives him more confidence for the season starting in a few weeks. “As a cross-country coach, I see a very talented young lady. She’s going to be tough to beat,” Coach Lee says about Nanabahzhoni Tom.
