Native American Athletes in the NCAA, WNIT, NIT and other March Madness Basketball Tournaments

Four months ago, college basketball teams all across the country began their quest for a conference championship and then for one of the most sought after spots, a spot in the NCAA’s and other post-season March Madness tournaments.

For Indian Country, the representation on the some of the nations best college basketball programs continues to grow and this year will be no different.

Below are a list of Native American players who will be participating in the various March Madness tournament as well as some players who will be playing in NCAA Division 1 women’s and men’s tournaments.

  1. My daughter Rachel Friend plays for la vern university in la vern, California. She is from the kiowa tribe of Oklahoma, but her team didn’t make the post season. Hopefully she can make the list next year.
