NM State Loses Five-Set Heartbreaker to UMKC; Bradley Nash (Navajo) with Game High 15 Kills for Aggies

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State volleyball team jumped ahead early against Western Athletic Conference leader Missouri-Kansas City but could not hold a two-set lead, eventually losing to the ‘Roos in a five-set thriller, 17-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-13, on Thursday night inside the Pan American Center.

The Aggies, who lost their first WAC match at home in 12 matches, a streak that dates back to 2012, fall to 4-2 in WAC play and 10-7 overall while UMKC remains perfect at 5-0 in the WAC and improve to 17-3 overall with its 13th-consecutive win of the season.

Junior Bradley Nash (Navajo) led the NM State attack with a match-high 15 kills and a .375 hitting percentage.

NM State will try and regroup and get back on the winning track versus Chicago State, which is winless in the WAC.  The two teams will face off on Saturday, Oct. 18, inside the Pan American Center.  The match was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. (MDT) start, but was moved to a noon start.
