Oklahoma State Freshman Stailee Heard (Seminole/Seneca/Creek) finished with 18 points in 82-50 Win over BYU

STILLWATER – Quincy Noble poured in 30 points, tying her career high, as the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team blew out BYU, 82-50, Wednesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

With the win, OSU improves to 11-6 on the season and 4-2 in Big 12 play. It was also the Cowgirl’s fourth win in their last five games and largest margin of victory since their season opener against SIUE (41).

Freshman Stailee Heard finished with 18 points and six rebounds, while Lior Garzon and Hannah Gusters added 13 each. Oklahoma State forced BYU into 25 turnovers in the game, scoring 38 points off them.

The Cowgirls wasted no time jumping out to an early lead, going on a 9-0 run to open the game. OSU would hold an 18-8 lead at the end of the first quarter behind 10 early points from Noble.

Oklahoma State continued to break the game open in the second quarter, using full-court pressure to go on a 20-2 run to close the half. Noble tied her season-high by halftime with 19 points, while Heard had 14 to contribute to the 45-22 lead at the break.

The third quarter played closer, with the Cowgirls only outscoring BYU by two in the frame. Anna Gret Asi recorded five of her eight assists in the period as the Cowgirls took a 65-40 lead to the fourth.

In the final quarter, Oklahoma State maintained its lead by scoring buckets in bunches, including six-straight points from Noble midway through the frame. Kansas State transfer Emilee Ebert scored her first points as a Cowgirl in the final minute as OSU closed out the 82-50 victory.

Asi led the team with five steals and Heard added four as the Cowgirls applied pressure to BYU throughout the game. Rylee Langerman grabbed eight rebounds and recorded three steals herself in 24 minutes off the bench for OSU.

As a team, Oklahoma State outscored the Cougars in the paint, 42-26, and in transition, 20-8. They also logged 10 more assists than BYU and shot 23-25 from the free throw line on a night where they shot just 22% from three.
