by LITCHFIELD, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women’s golf team finished first at the MLC/UMN Morris Dual Sunday afternoon, which took place at the Litchfield Golf Course.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars shot a 424 (+144) as a team.
- Payton Sierra (Oglala Lakota) finished first with a 91 (+21), five strokes ahead of Alison Lindemann (96/+26) from Martin Luther.
- Shelby Maloney placed third with a 104 (+34).
- Tori Grates took fourth with a 111 (+41).
- Kim Novotny shot a 118 (+48) to place fifth.
NOTABLES
- Sierra, a sophomore, won her third individual title at UMN Morris Sunday. She also won the 2018 MLC/UMN Morris Dual.
- Maloney and Novotny, both freshmen, carded career-best scores Sunday.
