Pima Community College women’s basketball player Jacqulynn Nakai (Coconino HS) earned her fourth selection as ACCAC Division II Player of the Week on Wednesday for the week of Feb. 12-18.
Nakai, a freshman guard, averaged 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists as the Aztecs went 1-1. She had a double-double of 12 points and 10 assists in the loss at Cochise College. Nakai tied a season-high with 34 points in Saturday’s win over Phoenix College.
Nakai earned her first honor as Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 20-26 and had her second nod for the week of Jan. 15-21. Her third selection came for the week of Jan. 22-28.
Nakai has played and started in all 27 games and leads the ACCAC conference in points (17.3) and assists (6.8) per game.
The Aztecs play at Central Arizona College tonight at 5:30 p.m. and are back at the West Campus on Saturday to face off against rival Mesa Community College at 2:00 p.m. The Aztecs are two games behind Mesa for the No. 1 seed.
