KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team edged Missouri Valley College by one stroke to bring home a first-place finish on Monday and Tuesday at the Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City, Mo.
DWU finished with a two-round total of 581 led by Coleman Caldwell (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma). The senior shot a 144, good for a tie in third place. Tigers’ Connor Preston (Aberdeen, S.D.) and Michael Whitney (Brandon, S.D.) finished in a tie for fifth place with a 145.Thomas Hogg (Aberdeen, S.D.) added a seventh-place finish, while Russel Pick (Kimball, S.D.) tied for 16th.
Teams that participated in the event were: DWU, Missouri Valley A and B, Rockhurst University, Avila University and Fontbonne University. Avila hosted the two-day tournament.
The Tigers have completed the fall portion of the season and await the 2017 season.
