BILLINGS, Mont. – The Black Hills State University cross country teams continued their seasons Friday at the Yellowjacket Invitational in Billings, Montana. The No. 20 Yellow Jacket men’s team won the meet with 21 points while the women’s team placed third with 67 points.
Alec Baldwin, the reigning Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Runner of the Week, won his third-consecutive meet. Baldwin timed in at 24:30.39, more than 43 seconds in front of Robert Peterson of MSU-Billings. The time was also a course record by more than 30 seconds.
Kendall Murie (Chippewa/Cree) and Jonah Theisen placed third and fourth, respectively. Murie timed in at 25:29.60 while Theisen’s time was 25:54.10.
Placing sixth and seventh were Joshua Davis and Aaron Schone. Davis’ 8K time was 26:12.01 while Schone timed in at 26:16.71. The final two point earning Yellow Jackets were Isaac Iverson in ninth and Garrett Peterson in 11th.
Following the Yellow Jackets 21 points was MSU-Billings with 40 points, South Dakota Mines with 84 points, Rocky Mountain College with 100 points, Central Wyoming College with 148 points and MSU – Northern with 177 points.
