Quentin Raynor (Yakama Tribe) Drops 20 Points as Yakima Valley Improves to 3-1 in East Region Play

The Yakima Valley men’s basketball team pulled out a pair of nail-biters last week to improve to 3-1 in NWAC East play and 11-3 overall.

The Yaks kicked things off with an 88-87 home win over Spokane last Wednesday, taking advantage of 25 points from Conner Turner and 20 from Quentin Raynor (Yakama). Alexzander Delgado posted a strong all-around effort with 14 points, five assists, five steals and four rebounds as YVC shot 55.9% (33-of-59) from the field.
Turner also had a team-high six rebounds to go with three assists, while Raynor chipped in four assists and two rebounds. Christian Murphy came off the bench to score seven points and grab four rebounds, and Godwin Ilumoka scored six points in a reserve role.

The Yaks followed up that performance with an 89-87 come-from-behind win over Walla Walla on Saturday. Five players scored in double figures, helping YVC overcome a five-point halftime deficit.
