Near the end of the high school track season last spring, Todd County 100 meter specialist Ty Herman tore a hamstring.

That hamstring bothered Herman all summer, and even into fall football camp.

If didn’t look like much of a problem Friday as Herman showed some nifty moves on the field against St. Francis.

Herman finished the game with seven rushes for 107 yards (15.1 average) and two touchdowns with a long run of 49 yards.

Defensively, Herman recorded a sack and seven tackles from his linebacker spot to aid the Falcon defense.

For his efforts, Herman is this week’s, Todd County high school player of the week.

“He made some great cuts and it’s nice to see him finally get healthy,” Bob Kornely, Falcon football coach said. “We switched him to linebacker from defensive back a year ago and he covers a lot of ground for us out there.”

Herman and his Falcon football mates travel to Crow Creek to take on a Chieftain squad that lost 66-14 to Cheyenne Eagle-Butte a week ago.
