PORTLAND – Fighting until the final seconds of the game, the Multnomah University women’s basketball team fell just short of a comeback on Saturday as College of Idaho held on for a 73-69 win on Jim Skagen Court.

GAME SUMMARY:
- Trailing 6-0 to start the first quarter of play, MU scored eight started points before closing the quarter with a 21-18 advantage. Sequoia Wheeler (Nez Perce Tribe) went 4-for-4 from three-point range during the period.
- The Lions held off the Yotes in the first half as they took a two-point lead into the break.
- College of Idaho’s offense took off in the third quarter, outscoring the Lions 22-14, before building their lead to eight points in the fourth.
- MU cut the lead to two points with 19 seconds to go in the contest, but late free throws down the stretch kept the game in favor of the Yotes.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- Wheeler tallied a game high 29 points to lead the Lions while Paris Sanders finished with a double-double, collecting 10 rebounds to go along with 12 points.
- Bethany George added nine points while Milan Woods finished with eight.
- For C of I, Kaylee Krusemark totaled 23 points and Alyssa Case finished with 16
