Sequoia Wheeler (Nez Perce Tribe) Tallied a game high 29 points as Multnomah University fell just short of a comeback on Saturday as College of Idaho

PORTLAND – Fighting until the final seconds of the game, the Multnomah University women’s basketball team fell just short of a comeback on Saturday as College of Idaho held on for a 73-69 win on Jim Skagen Court.

GAME SUMMARY:

  • Trailing 6-0 to start the first quarter of play, MU scored eight started points before closing the quarter with a 21-18 advantage. Sequoia Wheeler (Nez Perce Tribe) went 4-for-4 from three-point range during the period.
  • The Lions held off the Yotes in the first half as they took a two-point lead into the break.
  • College of Idaho’s offense took off in the third quarter, outscoring the Lions 22-14, before building their lead to eight points in the fourth.
  • MU cut the lead to two points with 19 seconds to go in the contest, but late free throws down the stretch kept the game in favor of the Yotes.
