ATLANTA, Ga. – Shantashia John (Mississippi Choctaw) of the Belhaven Women’s Basketball team has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South Rookie of the Week on Monday.
John played a vital role in the production of offense for the Blazes this week scoring 17 points and posted a team-high six assists in the heartbreaking loss to Birmingham Southern. Additionally, she added nine rebounds, five steals, and shot 83.3 percent from their charity stripe.
Through the first four games of the season, Shantashia is averaging 27.3 points per game and is shooting 60 percent from the floor. Additionally, she averages 32.5 minutes per game, has a 54.2 percentage from three point range, and is 24-for-28 from the charity stripe.
This is Shantashia’s third straight Rookie of the Week honor from the Collegiate Conference of the South
