HAVRE, Mont., January 22, 2022- The Battlin’ Bears women started slow, but a big third quarter led to a 57 to 43 win against MSU-Northern (7-15,0-8). The Battlin’ Bears are now 18-2, 7-1 on the year.
Rocky was led on offense by Kloie Thatcher, who had a game high 27 points, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals. N’ Dea Flye had 12 points, 10rebounds, five assists, and four steals, to record a double double. Shauna Bribiescas (Navajo) had 10 points, and 10 rebounds, to record a double double also. The Battlin’ Bears shot 33.3 percent from the field, 31 percent from the arc, and 57.1 percent from the line.
Montana State University-Northern was led by Peyton Kehr with 13 points and five rebounds. L’Tia Lawrence added 12 points and one rebound. Morgan Mason added 10 points and four steals. The Skylights shot 26.4 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from deep, and 78.6 percent from the line.
The Battlin’ Bears had nine points off turnovers to the Skylights’ 15 points. Rocky had 20 points in the paint to MSU-Northern’s 16 points. Rocky was up by as much as 16 in the contest.
