DICKINSON, N.D., December 8, 2021- The Battlin’ Bears women down after the first quarter and at the half, but the Rocky women surged back and won 77 to 68. Rocky outscored Dickinson State 43 to 32 in the second half.
Rocky was led on offense by Shauna Bribiescas (Navajo), who had 28 points and three rebounds. Dominique Stephens scored another 17 points and pulled in five rebounds. Kloie Thatcher added 13 points, five rebounds, and five assists. N’ Dea Flye contributed another double double, with 10 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, a block, and three steals. There were 16 rebounds attributed to the team, to bring the Rocky total to 43.
Dickinson State was led by Courtney Olson with 26 points, and two rebounds. Kailyn Groves added 14 points and six rebounds.
Rocky shot 40.6 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from deep, and 78.9 percent from the line. Dickinson shot 31.7 percent from the field, 20 percent from deep, and 75 percent from the line. Rocky had 20 points off of turnovers to Dickinson’s 19 points, and the Battlin’ Bears had 24 points in the paint to Dickinson’s 28 points.
