(Anadarko, OK) – The accolades continue to roll in for Anadarko high school senior Sheldon Wilson (Comanche tribe), who set a state record of 7,774 career rushing yards and the single season touchdown record of 57 in a season and 64 overall. Wilson was also named the Oklahoma Offense Player of the Year, Oklahoma All-State team and named the MAXPREPS Small School Player of the Year as well. Wilson was also on the starting lineup for the Anadarko Warrior basketball team that finished runner up at the state championships and he recently became the 2012 State Champion at the long-jump for track.
The newest honor Wilson has been chosen for is the 2012 All-Star Oil Bowl team. The Oil Bowl is a high school football game played between All-Star teams from Texas and Oklahoma. The all star game began in 1938, originally between East and West Texas high school football all-stars but It was not until 1945 that the game began pitting Oklahoma against Texas. The Oil Bowl will be taking place on June 9 at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Sheldon will be taking his talents to NEO college next season in Miami, Oklahoma to play football for the Norsemen. Congratulations to Wilson on an outstanding high school career.
