Shyla Latone (Zuni) Finishes in double figures with 12 points for the Utah State Aggies

MUNCIE, Indiana – Utah State women’s basketball (5-4) lost, 81-55, to Ball State (6-3) on Saturday in Muncie, Indiana.

The Cardinals got off to a hot start as Ball State outscored USU, 23-11, in the first quarter. The Aggies were close in scoring in the middle periods as BSU outscored USU, 37-30, in the second and third stanzas. However, the Cardinals outscored the Aggies, 21-14, in the final quarter to seal the 81-55 Ball State victory.

Junior guard/forward Adryana Quezada led the Aggies with her third double-double of the season 14 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Shyla Latone (Zuni Pueblo) also scored in double figures with 12 points. 

Utah State finished the day shooting 35.0 percent (21-of-60) from the field, 23.8 percent (5-of-21) from behind the arc and 88.9 percent (8-of-9) at the free throw line. Ball State shot 43.3 percent (29-of-67) from the floor, 43.2 (16-of-37) from behind the 3-point line and 100.0 percent (7-of-7) at the charity stripe.
