Senior Skye Norwood (Choctaw Nation) of Haskell Indian Nations University was been named MCAC Women’s Volleyball Libero of the Week for the week ending Sept. 21.
Norwood, a native of Tahlequah, Okla., averaged 5.69 digs per game last week in helping the Indians post a 4-0 record. In a 3-1 win over Central Methodist University, she recorded 33 digs.
Haskell is 8-9 this season.
OTHERS NOMINATED: Kailey Firm (York College), Taylor Holz (Bellevue University), Aysha Janssen (College of Saint Mary), Andrea Novakovic (Oklahoma Wesleyan University), Brandi Stahl (College of the Ozarks) and Briley Sullivan (Waldorf College).
Next up the Indians are ready to hit the long road south. First stop will be to Point Lookout, MO where they’ll face off with College of the Ozarks, now 6-12 overall and 1-0 in conference.
Always a great battle to the end with this team. In 2012 the Indians fell 0-3 but manage to overpower in digs with 43 overall. Chamisa Edmo, recent graduate, swung away to get 12 kills.
