ALAMOSA, Colo. – Senior setter Heather Danny (Navajo Nation) recorded a match high 42 assists to help lead the Fort Lewis College volleyball team to a sweep at Adams State University in the Skyhawks final match of the season. The Skyhawks won the match with set wins of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-19.
The Skyhawks recorded a season high .287 hitting percentage after posting 47 kills on 108 attempts (16 errors).
Ashley Wells and Madi Bickle combined for 23 of the Skyhawks 47 kills. Wells tallied 13 kills and hit .321 at the net (four errors, 28 attempts) to go with her three digs and two blocks. Bickle chipped in 10 kills, two digs and two blocks. Stephani Sonka, Shelby Lehman and Emily Dellenbach each contributed seven kills. Lehman hit .545 at the net after committing only one error on 11 attempts. Dellenbach hit .250 offensively (three errors, 16 attempts) and Sonka committed only two errors on 25 attempts for a .200 hitting percentage.
Ally Dell’Amico posted a match high 15 digs followed by Lindley Gallegos’ 14 digs. Rachel Hendrick added five digs, one kill, one assist and one ace.
Lindsey Stindt led the Grizzlies with 13 kills and a .345 hitting percentage.
Fort Lewis finishes the season 8-18 overall and 5-13 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
