Herkimer, NY—Herkimer County Community College softball player Krista Oakes (St. Regis Mohawk) has been named Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year. Pitcher Oakes was also named to the Mountain Valley All-Conference Team along with five of her teammates. The Herkimer Generals softball team finished the regular season with an overall record of 33-4, 30-1 in NJCAA Region III play, and 12-0 in the Mountain Valley Conference.
The Generals recently won their regional championship and will go on to play in the national tournament that will be held May 17-20 in Rochester, MN.
