by NORMAN – Freshman Callie Kemohah (Osage Nation) was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. Kemohah picks up her second career honor after earning the defensive player of the week nod on Sept. 14.
Kemohah is the only freshman to have earned defensive player of the week this season and is only the second repeat winner. The Lucas, Texas, native helped lead the Sooners to their first Big 12 win of the season as she recorded 19 digs to go along with five assists on Friday. Kemohah was just shy of her career high on Saturday, tallying 27 digs in the loss to average 6.75 digs per set. Her 5.75 digs per set over the weekend led the Big 12.
