by CHICKASHA, Okla. – The Sooner Athletic Conference has named Summer Leitka (Seminole) the Pitcher of the Week for her performances against Friends University and Oklahoma Panhandle State University. The No. 2 Drovers improved their overall record to 6-0 with a pair of wins against Friends in Chickasha, followed by a pair of wins at OPSU in Goodwell.
In USAO’s first win of the week against Friends, Leitka was superb going all 7 innings, while only allowing 1 run and 3 hits during her 15-strikeout performance. She followed her first win of the week with a 5 inning, shutout performance that included 3 more strikeouts.
The Junior improved her record to 3-0 and lowered her ERA to 1.47. In 19 innings pitched she has struck out 22 batters, while only allowing walking 6.
The No. 2 Drovers highly anticipated double-header against No. 1 Oklahoma City that was scheduled for Tuesday, February 19, was postponed due to weather conditions. USAO’s next scheduled game is against Central Baptist College at noon in Springfield, MO.
