The MSU-Northern Skylights won against Park University-Gilbert in their first counter game 94-71 in Billings, Montana. Park-Gilbert took the lead early in the first quarter 10-2. The Skylights stayed in the game going into the second quarter down 24-18. The Skylights went on a good run at the end of the second quarter to cut into the lead 44-42.
Northern took the lead at the beginning of the third quarter. The game went back and forth, as the Skylights ended the third quarter on a 12-0 run. Northern pushed the lead in the fourth quarter taking the game.
Individual Stats:
The Skylights had four athletes in double figures. Northern was led by Taya Trottier, who had 20 points, five assists, and seven rebounds. Becky Melcher added 16 points going 5-7 from the three. Katelynn Forner was just shy of a triple-double with 10 steals, 10 assists, and nine points.
The Buccaneers were led by Kayla Schroeder scoring 16 points going 4-8 from the three-point line. Savannah Huerta was 5-12 from the field with 14 points.
