Texas Woman’s University’s Tylia Sylestine (Alabama-Coushatta Tribe) named to the 2018 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association Softball All-South Region Team

DENTON, Texas (May 14, 2018) – Tylia Sylestine (Alabama-Coushatta Tribe) of Texas Woman’s University garnered her second First Team All-Region honor of the season as she was named 2018 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Softball All-South Region as announced Monday.

Last week, Sylestine was named First Team All-Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). The Kilgore native is a First Team All-Lone Star Conference (LSC) selection and concluded the regular season by ranking third in the league in on-base percentage (.521), sixth in home runs (14), seventh in slugging percentage (.810) and ninth in RBI (43). The third baseman recorded 14 multi-hit games and registered five RBI in a single game this season for the fourth-highest output in the LSC.

Sylestine will now be placed on the D2CCA All-American ballot with the teams being announced May 23.
