Thunderbirds defeat Dakota College Bottineau 96-84
United Tribes snapped a three game losing streak by defeating Dakota College Bottineau 96-84 Thursday night. Tribes jumped out to an early 47-25 lead against the visiting team and went into the locker room with a 49-31 lead at the half. The second half saw the Lumberjacks claw their way back into the game cutting the lead to 73-66 with under 10 minutes to play, but the Thunderbirds would answer with another run and quickly extend the lead back to 89-72.
Leading the way in the scoring column was Shayden Keplin with 36 points. Rob McClain went 9-10 from the field on his way to 22 points and 7 rebounds. Tommy Williams added 12 points and 9 rebounds. Ernest Grant provided a spark off the bench with 11 points. The Thunderbirds had 30 assists as a team and Sam Pendleton was in a giving mood once again with 15 assists on the night.
Tribes returns to action Sunday afternoon when they host Dawson Community College. The women’s game begins at 2pm followed by the men at 4pm.
