The Valley City State University cross country teams wrapped up their seasons Friday during the North Star Athletic Association/Frontier Conference national qualifying meet in Billings, Mont.
Richard Langdeaux (Rosebud Sioux) led the Viking men with a 13th-place finish at the meet and a time of 26:41. Langdeaux’s strong performance led the Viking men to a sixth-place finish overall in the nine-team field. Among North Star teams, the Vikings placed second behind Dakota State. Langdeaux took first place among North Star Athletic Association runners, and has a shot to qualify for the national meet based on his individual finish Friday. The Viking men took four of the top 10 spots among North Star runners: Langdeaux (1st), Malik Jackson (7th), Misael Herrera (9th) and Joshua Avila (10th).
