CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — WVU Tech women’s basketball is enjoying a three-game winning streak, all in River States Conference (RSC) action after defeating Ohio Christian University 81-76 on the road Thursday evening. The Golden Bears boost their record to 7-2, 3-0 (RSC) while the Trailblazers move to 1-7, 0-2 (RSC).
Tech finished 40.2 percent (24-for-57) from the floor while the Trailblazers shot 37.0 percent (27-for-73). The Gold and Blue dominated under the boards, pulling down 44 rebounds compared to Ohio Christian’s 28.
Junior Faith N. Silva led the team with 20 points including hitting six from three-point range. Silva also had four rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Freshman Alva Hedrich was one board short of a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds to go with three blocks and two assists.
Junior Valiyah Yazzie (Navajo) recorded 13 points, five rebounds and two steals while freshman Janaya Berry posted 11 points, eight boards, one steal and an assist.
